Pano Logic's Silver Cube Visits Interop New York 2010

Pano Logic focuses on delivering virtual desktop solutions – a new wave in the virtualization space.

He displayed one of their new desktop computing devices, called the “Silver Cube” which replaces desktop computing devices and puts all of the processing and desktop delivery back into the data center – without any processing or management at the endpoint – a huge benefit both for users and IT personnel.

A device of this potential that doesn’t contain an actual processor is a little bit mindboggling.

But according to Parmeet, “There is no processor at all, there is mostly VU in this machine, no memory – there is no persistent footprint in this device. There are no configuration or management concerns you need to worry about for this particular endpoint. Another beauty of this thing is that it is so minimal – it consumes only 3 and a half watts of power.”

Parmeet went on to elaborate about how the device achieves significant power savings.

The Silver Cube costs about $320.00 and is not hosted over the network – it is a local device.
