Eurocom's Mobile Server Notebooks Come with 18 Intel XEON Processors

A supplier of highly personalized, high-performance notebook PCs and energy efficient All-in-One PCs, Eurocom Corporation, introduced an enhanced line of Mobile Server notebooks for the mobile workforce, constantly in the need of accessing servers. The new enhanced versions are supported by Intel (News - Alert) 6- and 4-cores LGA1366 Processors, the company announced.

The Mobile Server is Eurocom’s new category of notebooks designed with the professional users in mind. According to its maker, the software developers needing Server On-The-Go capabilities will hugely benefit from this line pf notebooks. Eurocom

Mobile Server technology is designed to significantly reduce the time and cost of deploying short-term LAN based solutions and of extending usage of existing business applications to users wherever is required.

Today’s mobile workforce is in the constant need for an office like environment in the field. Teams working with mobile workstations on their customer site or anywhere outside their office need a server to share data, run applications and virtualize.

In a press release, Eurocom said that its notebook-based Mobile Server is designed to perform at the same level as the bulky, larger, fixed servers companies currently use but have the advantage of being fully portable, weighing only 5.3 kg (11.66bs). With integrated keyboard, display and built-in internal battery acting as built-in UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), the unit has been described by its maker as All-in-all-One.

Eurocom further added that its Mobile Servers are built for long term deployment and can withstand constant 24/7 usage. They are suitable for the most demanding environments. According to the company, stability perfectly balanced with performance is the factor that is making the Eurocom Mobile Servers popular worldwide.

“Easy implementation, deployment and relocation are the biggest reasons our clients are moving to Mobile Server technology with our Eurocom Panther line of systems, there is no special training required to manage these platforms. The advantages are huge and the drawbacks are minimal!” Eurocom president Mark Bialic explained in a statement.

There are total of 18 different processors in the Mobile Server notebooks to provide different level of performance, energy efficiency and capabilities to accommodate all computing and operational requirements.

A couple of months back, Eurocom announced an addition to its multi-vendor storage solutions product line with OCZ’s 480GB Vertex (News - Alert) 2 SATA 300 2.5 inch MLC SSD drive, product code: OCZSSD2-2VTXE480G. At the launch, the company announced that the Vertex 2 drive would be available in all Eurocom mobile workstations and mobile servers. The OCZ Vertex 2 drive is based on new architecture to push the limits in both sequential and read/write rates, the company stated. The low power consumption of the drive makes it applicable for mobile use when a customer is relying solely on the battery.
