Computer Systems, NISC Enhance Software Services to Independent Telecoms

Computer Systems, which provides services to 54 telecommunications companies in 12 states, is set to merge its operations into those of National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC), effective Nov. 1.

NISC (News - Alert) said that this agreement with Shawano, Wisconsin-based telecommunications IT company will be effective on Nov. 1.

With offices in Mandan, N.D. and Lake Saint Louis, Mo., NISC provides IT services to over 165 independent telecommunications companies and more than 420 rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities in 47 states, American Samoa and Canada.

Vern Dosch, NISC’s president and CEO, said in a statement that this alliance builds on a foundation of innovation and service that Computer Systems provided its customers for more than 40 years.

NISC worked closely with Computer Systems management, staff and owners and Dosch said that it shares the company's high level of dedication to solutions and service. The company now aims to make the transition for all involved as seamless and smooth as possible.

As per the agreement, current Computer Systems customers will continue having their current software maintained through the Shawano offices under the same terms.

“Merging our resources and our 41 years of experience into NISC with its 46 years of experience is a very positive and powerful event for our current customers and telecommunications organizations looking for advanced software and IT services,” said Peter Schroll, CSLLC's chief operating officer, in a press release. “Together, we bring almost 90 years of innovation and technology to the independent telecom industry.”
