Xilinx Deploys SiTime's Programmable MEMS Oscillators

Xilinx has used SiTime Corporation’s programmable MEMS oscillators on its Virtex-6 FPGA based ML605 FPGA Evaluation Kit, as well as the Spartan-6 FPGA based SP601 and SP605 FPGA Evaluation Kits. Xilinx (News - Alert) is using SiTime's SiT9102 Programmable, High Performance Differential Oscillator, as well as multiple versions of the SiT8102 Programmable, High Performance Oscillator on these Evaluation Kits.

Following are the details of the deployment:

ML605 Virtex-6 FPGA Evaluation Kit uses:

  • SiT9102AI-243N25E200.00000 that provides a 200 MHz differential LVDS output, and operates at 2.5V
  • SiT8102AN-34-25E33.00000 that provides a 33 MHz LVCMOS output and operates at 2.5V
  • SiT8102AN-44-25E47.00000 that provides a 47 MHz LVCMOS output and operates at 2.5V

SP605 Spartan-6 FPGA Evaluation Kit uses:

  • SiT9102AI-243N25E200.00000, which provides a 200 MHz differential LVDS output, and operates at 2.5V
  • SiT8102AN-34-25E33.00000, which provides a 33 MHz LVCMOS output and operates at 2.5V

 SP601 Spartan-6 FPGA Evaluation Kit uses:

  • SiT9102AI-243N25E200.00000, which provides a 200 MHz differential LVDS output, and operates at 2.5V

In a press release, Raj Seelam, senior marketing manager for Platform Solutions at Xilinx, said, "Xilinx is committed to offering programmable solutions to our customers that provide them with design flexibility and accelerate their time to revenue. SiTime's programmable, MEMS-based silicon timing solutions are complementary to Xilinx products as they are highly configurable, are 100 percent drop in replacements for quartz solutions and offer high performance with excellent lead times."

In a statement, Piyush Sevalia, vice president of marketing at SiTime, said, "Xilinx adopted SiTime's programmable silicon timing solutions for their highest performance FPGAs because SiTime offered compelling benefits in performance, design flexibility and availability. SiTime's broad product portfolio of programmable, MEMS-based silicon timing solutions offers significant technical and business benefits over quartz, and is driving the rapid deployment of SiTime's products in the industry.”

Recently, SiTime Corporation, the industry leader in MEMS-based analog semiconductor solutions, announced the availability of interactive, online Part Number Generator and Cross Reference tools that accelerate the deployment of SiTime's products.
