Luidia Focuses on Enterprises, Intellectual Property with Latest eBeam Technology

As the economy inches toward improvement, technology companies are emerging into new markets and focusing on new revenue streams. In fact, according to a Gartner (News - Alert) forecast released today, worldwide enterprise IT spending is predicted to reach $2.5 trillion in 2011, a 3.1 percent increase from 2010 spending of $2.4 trillion, according to Gartner, Inc.

At Gartner’s ITxpo Symposium for CIOs, for example, Luidia – which has been almost solely focused on the education sector – today announced a new line of interactive and digital capture products that enable organizations to better communicate and collaborate visually while digitally capturing, sharing and archiving valuable ideas from brainstorming sessions and presentations.

Nancy Boas, senior marketing manager at the San Carlos, Calif.-based company, said that the Gartner show is the company’s first enterprise-focused conference.

Boas said that enterprise and growing businesses and government departments can reduce the time and costs associated with traveling for meetings, as well as lost IP, by creating, capturing and sharing digital content and delivering it in an engaging way.

“Our core message is capturing intellectual property, and not letting great ideas walk out the door. A lot of problem solving is done on a white board, and that data is going outside an organization. eBeam improves work processes, creates better efficiency and is designed for the mobile workforce.

Based on sensor technology, the less than 4-ounce Beam Edge can capture whiteboard information and be saved as a PDF JPG, TIF, or even PowerPoint, for easy broadcast and meeting sharing. Patented technology makes it easy for users to present, annotate and interact with projected content, while capturing the results, which can be shared over the Internet, delivering real-time interactivity and collaboration for all viewers and participants, Boas said.

Luidia will be showing its eBeam suite, including eBeam Edge, the new eBeam Edge Whiteboard ad eBeam Edge Complete through Oct. 20 in Orlando at the Gartner Symposium IT Expo in the Emerging Technologies Pavilion, Booth E.

In addressing Gartner’s IT spending prediction, Peter Sondergaard, a Gartner analyst summarized: “At the heart of the change, the next 20 years will be intelligence drawn from information. Information will be the ‘oil of the 21st century.’ It will be the resource running our economy in ways not possible in the past.”
