Accelerator Delivers High Throughput with 50 Percent Reduced Latency

As the leading provider in 10 GbE data center solutions, Solarflare (News - Alert) Communications launched a new middleware application accelerator, EnterpriseOnload. As a Linux-based, open-source, high-performance application, EnterpriseOnload delivers high throughput with almost 50 percent reduced latency, while the message rates are increase by three to four times. Enterprise products in areas such financial services, geosciences, biosciences, weather and other high-performance computing applications require enhanced throughput and lower latency and hence can leverage those benefits from EnterpriseOnload.

Three new features are incorporated in the latest release of EnterpriseOnload that provide significant benefits to all customers and these include performance enhancements with reduced latency, support for 802.1Q virtual LAN trunking for IP traffic segregation and manageability as well as load balancing and redundancy.

Compared to Solarflare’s OpenOnload application, EnterpriseOnload offers an annual subscription model that provides valuable benefits and services such as validated source code, documentation, bug fixes and regular releases. As per the annual subscription program, services are offered at three levels with improved and extended technical support that now includes premium 24/7 worldwide support. However, OpenOnload application can still be downloaded by all Solarflare customers from openonload.org. Premium subscription is best suited for large enterprise customers who have limited due to international regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley. The premium subscription with worldwide 24/7 service and support offering provides the much needed competitive edge for this type of market.

Companies across various industries can now build HPC clusters and data centers by taking advantage of Solarflare’s 10 GbE network adapter. High-frequency trading and high-performance computing can easily be achieved using the unique solutions serving selected verticals such as scientific computing, energy, oil and gas, and manufacturing, and cloud networking. Solarflare SFN5122F 10GbE dual-port SFP+ adapter has been deployed to over 100 customers across 150 locations worldwide. The SFN5122F, with OpenOnload application acceleration middleware, is installed in every major equities exchange worldwide.

Solarflare's robust, cost-effective, power-efficient solutions are easy to deploy and are ideal for next-generation applications such as low-latency networking for market data applications, cloud computing, server virtualization, and network convergence. Tested and Proven by Securities Technology Analysis Center Research with Cisco switches and Cisco and IBM (News - Alert) servers, Solarflare chips are applicable in switches, adapters and test equipment shipping from Dell and others.
