rPath, a provider of automation system for rapid deployment and maintenance of complex software systems, announced that its rBuilder has been named the finalist in the “Private Cloud Computing” category of the Best of VMworld 2010 awards.
rBuilder is a development tool that is designed to simplify and automate the creation of software appliances and virtual appliances. It combines powerful features with innovative packaging techniques to yield a repeatable appliance creation process.
“We’re seeing a surge in demand for a new class of automation technologies that provide fast, conflict-free provisioning, update and dynamic retargeting of workloads across physical, virtual and cloud environments,” Mike Torto, chief executive officer at rPath said.
“What IT is realizing is that today’s manual and scripted processes can’t keep pace with the speed and scale of enterprise cloud initiatives. This award is a powerful acknowledgement of the unique role rPath plays in the next-generation automation necessary for scaling and sustaining an enterprise cloud,” Torto added.
The announcement was made at the VMworld 2010. Selection is done by an independent team of experts and editors from TechTarget’s searchServerVirtualization.com based on innovation, value, performance, reliability and ease of use.
rPath shared Best of VMworld 2010 honors with newScale (News - Alert), the Gold award winner for the Private Cloud Computing category and a self-service private/hybrid cloud coalition partner.
“This represents a clean category sweep for the coalition, only adding to the excitement this partner combination is generating as the pattern and the vision many enterprise IT organizations will follow on their journey to become on-demand IT-as-a-service providers,” Torto clarified.
