Password Reset Software from SysAid Can Help Businesses in More than One Way
By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor
SysAid (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Service Support (CSS) software, recently launched SysAid IT 8.0, the world's first fully mobile help desk and password reset software. This version comes with a brand new password services module and increased remote control capabilities.
SysAid IT 8.0 supports all of the most popular mobile platforms, including both versions of the iPad as well as all other tablets that run on Android (News - Alert), Blackberry and Windows 7 OS. According to a press release, due to extreme scalability of this software, IT administrators can now fully and easily manage their Help Desks through utilizing a mobile platform.
The new Password Reset Software Module allows end users to reset their passwords and/or unlock their network accounts by themselves. This benefits help desks immensely, as this software can cause the number of password service requests submitted to be reduced, hence allowing IT administrators to spend their time on more important activities. Company IT costs are also greatly decreased because time is no longer wasted on password issues. A recent Gartner (News
- Alert) study entitled "Password Reset: Self-Service That You Will Love," stated that 15 to 30 percent of all help desk calls are related to password reset requests. The study also found that each password reset request, if handled by help desk personnel, can cost anywhere from $51- $147.
"Release 8.0 was developed to optimize our software for use on a mobile device," said Israel Lifshitz, founder and CEO of SysAid. "Analysts and IT industry experts have long spoken about the impact that mobile capabilities will have on the IT industry. With the launch of the IT industry's first fully integrated mobile Help Desk platform, IT administrators will now be able to use their mobile devices to maximize efficiency, whether they are in the office or on the road."
