Palisade Systems Launches Data Security Integration for Mobile and Cloud Computing Markets

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Palisade Systems, a provider of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, announced the launch of data security integration for cloud service providers and mobile device vendors.

Both cloud service providers and mobile device vendors can use Palisade's PacketSure DLP solutions or Palisade software development kit to integrate Palisade's enterprise DLP functionality into their products and solutions.

Palisade PacketSure Cloud Security and Palisade PacketSure Mobile Security enable cloud service providers and mobile device vendors to minimize the risk associated with moving key applications and data to the web, and helps ensure the security of corporate data on mobile devices.

“With the continued movement towards cloud deployments, we realize the need to protect data wherever it resides to minimize risk and meet compliance regulations,” said Spencer Snedecor, CEO of Palisade Systems, in a statement

“We've been working with Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS) to deliver full enterprise DLP capabilities in this environment to secure sensitive data and have had solutions running in AWS for months,” Snedecor added.

Providing reporting and documentation for regulatory compliance purposes, this type of DLP offering is suitable for finance, healthcare providers, government and educational entities. PacketSure Mobile and Cloud Security solutions include Palisade's data capture and policy enforcement engine for monitoring, analyzing and enforcing data security policies, company officials said.

As part of the Amazon Web Service (AWS) Solution Provider Program, Palisade first delivered a cloud-based security solution. Palisade offers full DLP functionality for Web and e-mail security for Amazon customers who have Web, e-mail and/or database servers in EC2 or Virtual Public Cloud (VPC) environments.

Recently, Palisade Systems appointed Spencer Snedecor as the company’s new chief executive officer. In addition, Snedecor has also joined Palisade Systems board of directors. Snedecor holds more than 30 years of experience in driving technology companies -- Secure Computing, Covelight Systems and PGP (News - Alert) Corporation.
