Netmagic Launches Third Generation of Enterprise-Grade Cloud Services

By Laura Stotler, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Netmagic Solutions, a pure-play managed IT hosting services firm based in India, has launched the third generation of its enterprise-grade, on-demand public cloud services. The SimpliCloud (Cloud Services on Public Internet), HybridCloud (Public Cloud Services extended to an enterprise's dedicated IT infrastructure through secure VPN) and Private Cloud (Dedicated Cloud Services for an enterprise) services are all available with 24/7/365 customer support.

The latest generation of Netmagic's public cloud (IaaS) service is available for a 15-day free trial through the company's website. A number of enterprises of all sizes throughout India are already using SimpliCloud to host a variety of CRM, ERP, mail and messaging, e-campaign, e-commerce and custom applications.

The SimpliCloud service is scalable to meet the needs of all types of organizations, from just a few servers to complex IT infrastructure setups with hundreds of servers. The solution provides enterprise-grade infrastructure along with leading SLAs and is available through a pay-for-what-you-use monthly or hourly billing model. Customers may also scale up or down at will to accommodate growth and fluctuations.

The service comes with pre-paid and post-paid billing plan options that are available both online and offline. It delivers all IT infrastructure components required to handle business critical applications and includes SimpliCompute for compute resources, SimpliStor for external storage and SimpliNet for firewalls and load balancers. It also features a new and more intuitive user interface for easier configuration of cloud resources in a matter of minutes.

The HybriCloud service fits enterprises seeking solutions to help extend existing dedicated IT infrastructure while also offering scalability by using Netmagic's public cloud resources over a secure VPN. This provides the security of an enterprise IT network while also enabling organizations to have a blend of in-house hardware resources and public cloud resources, working through a single logical network. The hybrid option also gives CTOs a means for smooth changeover from captive resources to a secure and scalable public cloud offering.

Private cloud offerings are available in customized, hosted formats based on customers' requirements. Netmagic has also launched two partner programs to facilitate cloud adoption. The SimpliConnect Cloud Ecosystem Partner Program is aimed at application developers, ISVs, system integrators and PaaS and SaaS providers. it helps partners capitalize on the SimpliCloud IaaS offering while also transforming their businesses to a service-based OPEX (News - Alert) model.

The SimpliSell Cloud Affiliate Program aims to increase the penetration of cloud services through channel partners, particularly in Tier 2 and 3 cities in India. The program enables partners to resell the SimpliCloud white-labeled services under their own brands and price points, or on a transfer pricing model. White-labeled services offer partners their own branding and flexibility to integrate with billing systems and payment gateways.

“Netmagic’s cloud business is growing at more than 100 percent,” said Sharad Sanghi, MD and CEO of Netmagic. “There is a clear intent from customers to leverage the cloud for greater business flexibility and no upfront investment. They also want a simple solution that can make their journey onto the cloud hassle-free. We were the first to identify this opportunity in India and launched our cloud services in April 2009. By backing it up with the highest level of support and with our initiatives to enable the ecosystem, we hope to push cloud adoption in India significantly.”

“We have seen an increased adoption of cloud services in the last two quarters where 90 percent of all our SimpliCloud Proof of Concepts have been successful, adding to our list of SimpliCloud customers,” he added.
