Certeon, CloudOne Partner to Automate Secure Access to Developer Cloud

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Certeon (News - Alert), an application performance firm, announced its alliance with CloudOne, a company specializing in lifting software and systems development onto the cloud, to offer the software infrastructure for enabling optimized access to integrated development environments (IDE) in the cloud for developers using the IBM (News - Alert) Rational product suite.

CloudOne’s cloud development solution elevates distributed development team collaboration through virtual private clouds. Leveraging Certeon’s application acceleration technology, aCelera, the partnership offers application performance, control and security for developers looking to collaborate in the cloud.

By having the IDE in a secure, optimized cloud environment, organizations and their developers can bypass common challenges associated with such an environment. These challenges include huge up front setup costs, downtime, slow synchronization of workflows, unavailability of shared code bases, software maintenance, systems scalability and high TCO.

“At CloudOne, we continually strive to improve our cloud-developing solution, and partnering with Certeon is the next step in providing the most comprehensive and advanced solution on the market,” said John McDonald (News - Alert), CEO, CloudOne, in a statement.

“Virtually any developer can be up and running in minutes on a secure link to other globally distributed developers,” McDonald added. “Certeon’s aCelera is a software-based solution with a proven flexible and cost-effective approach to optimized access to applications in the cloud.”

Collaborating in the cloud offers many benefits. Enterprises need to create private networks within a cloud provider’s infrastructure to make the network an extension of the enterprise network. The Certeon and CloudOne partnership removes all of those problems by providing a virtual VPN connection between any user and the cloud application.

“aCelera has just changed the game for cloud services providers that need to deliver automated access and meet application SLA’s in a secure cloud,” said Peter Dougherty, president and CEO, Certeon.

Recently, WebLayers announced its association with CloudOne. The agreement enables enterprises to leverage a combination of the Company's SOA and application development governance technology with CloudOne's software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) delivery of IBM Rational tools.
