Idera Extends SQL Admin Toolset Lineup

Idera, a provider of Microsoft (News - Alert) SQL Server management and administration solutions, has unveiled Idera SQL admin toolset 1.5, a set of 25 essential desktop tools for monitoring, troubleshooting, administering and reporting on SQL Server.

Officials with Idera said that the latest release adds a new tool, Linked Server Copy, which helps database administrators with their day-to-day management tasks by allowing them to copy linked servers from one SQL Server instance to another along with the associated settings and permissions.

"Ensuring the highest levels of SQL Server performance is the most important job requirement for DBAs,” said Rick Pleczko, president and CEO, of Idera, in a statement.

Pleczko added that there are many tools available to help, but Idera SQL admin toolset is the only product that provides so much functionality in a single product at an amazing price.

Company officials said that with this tool DBAs can also-View all the linked servers that exist on the source server and not on the destination SQL Server instance and Copy all or specific linked servers from the source SQL Server instance to a destination SQL Server instance.

"The number of SQL Server admin tasks that Idera's SQL admin toolset handles is unbelievable. The tools accelerate critical everyday tasks saving us many hours each week," said Chris Stride, Systems & Support Analyst at Pret A Manger, a UK-based restaurant chain with more than 225 locations.

"We've previewed the new Linked Server Copy tool and are excited to use it in production," said Stride.

Company officials claimed that with the SQL admin toolset, DBAs now have a rich set of productivity tools on their desktop that provide the ability to multi-query, check passwords, analyze indexes and patches, check server configurations, edit and move jobs, gather server statistics and much, much more. These 25 tools significantly simplify and streamline day-to-day SQL Server administration tasks.
