GraphOn Launches GO-Global 4 Application Virtualization Solution

GraphOn Corporation a developer of application publishing and Web-enabling software solutions announced GO-Global 4 a new product suite that is expected to enhance GraphOn’s GO-Global for Windows application virtualization solution.

Asaf Doron, vice president of product marketing for GraphOn said in a release, “We are very excited to introduce our new GO-Global 4 family and its powerful new capabilities, including support for 64-bit operating systems.”

“GO-Global 4 is much more than a product upgrade. It’s a brand new, robust, remote access platform built from the ground up to meet today's demanding application publishing and virtualization requirements,” Doron added.

Company sources explained that GO-Global 4 will provide instant and secure access to centrally-running Windows applications from virtually any location, platform, and operating system. The solution will also “publish” Windows-based applications over LANs, WANs, VPNs, and/or over the Internet for easy remote access from cross-platform clients and mobile users. Although easy to use it has capabilities to support medium and even large enterprise deployments.

Doron also said that the GO-Global 4 eliminates the time and expense required in rewriting existing Windows-based applications for the Web. Besides it is easy to deploy and use than Citrix XenApp or other solutions like Microsoft (News - Alert) Remote Desktop Services, he pointed out.

The software components included in the GO-Global 4 product are GO-Global Windows Host 4.0 which runs on a central 32- or 64-bit Windows computer.

According to official sources GraphOn offers two editions of the GO-Global Windows Host namely the Professional Edition and Platinum Edition. The remote device runs a GO-Global Client that enables access to the central applications. Two client types are available, the GO-Global desktop clients which run natively on users’ Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Mac OS X computers, and the GO-Global browser clients which run in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple (News - Alert) Safari.

The GO-Global Portal is an add-on product for the GO-Global Windows Host which offers powerful management capabilities, including centralized configuration of hosts, clients, access privileges, workspaces, and other enterprise-level features.

The professional edition encompasses features such as a 64-bit Windows support enabling it to support applications designed to run on 64-bit versions of Windows and also 32-bit applications.

Other features include automatic client updates, enhanced printing and management, performance auto-tuning, fast application startup, USB Drive and printer redirection and an upgrade migration tool.

Company sources added that the GO-Global Windows Host 4.0 Professional Edition product will be available for a free 30-day trial. Also GO-Global customers can request a free license upgrade to GO-Global Windows Host 4.0 at www.graphon.com/customer-support/upgrade-form.
