CellTrust Corporation, a provider of SecureSMS for mobile phones, has launched its secure mobile government division with a dedicated team of governmental IT professionals and mobile security experts based at CellTrust (

Alert) headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In a release, company officials said that the secure mobile government division is comprised of seasoned IT professionals with decades of experience in governmental agency information data management.
According to officials, along with CellTrust's mobile security experts, they have engineered a suite of secure mobile government information management applications designed to meet the stringent security and mobility needs of governmental agencies around the globe.

Moshir said that after 20 years of providing Internet security for governmental agencies it is a logical step for the CellTrust team to pave the way for secure mobile government.
More than 20 governmental agencies were amongst those in Singapore exploring how to secure the SMS channel as CellTrust kicked off its Secure Mobile Government Division including the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Infocomm Development Authority.
"We are seeing a dramatic interest in Southeast Asia in securing the highly popular and effective SMS channel as governments are using it to communicate across organizations and communities," said Victor Foo, managing director of ITComms, CellTrust's regional partner.
Vahid Sedghi, vice president, government division, at CellTrust said that the mobile security threat landscape is in its early stages, but mobile SMS cyber attacks are growing both in number and complexity.
"CellTrust SecureSMS technology will prevent cyber crime and protect government mobile SMS messages, while allowing government agencies to create a secure communication platform anywhere around the globe with any mobile operator," said Sedghi.
Recently CellTrust had
announced the launch of
CellTrust SecureSMS Appliance for the enterprise space.
This, the company claims, is the first global enterprise appliance to offer
secure SMS communication for handset-to-handset, application-to-handset or vice versa, with highly encrypted end to end security in compliance with HIPAA, FISMA, and Sarbanes-Oxley, ensuring that information is kept private and only delivered to the intended recipient.
