ISE Labs Adds Verigy's V93000 HSM System to Expand Test Capabilities

Verigy, a semiconductor test company, has announced that its V93000 High Speed Memory or ‘HSM’ system has been added to the testing portfolio of ISE Labs, a semiconductor test engineering service provider in the Silicon Valley, in order to expand its test capabilities.

ISE Labs provides a high-speed memory test system for characterization of DDR3 and QDR memory devices up to 3.6 Gbps and above, and is the first test house in Silicon Valley to offer such capabilities.

The DDR3 and QDR devices are used in various consumer and commercial applications such as high-performance servers and gaming PCs.

The Verigy V93000 High-Speed Memory Series offers highly accurate at-speed I/O and at-speed memory core access testing. The system is future-ready, and can be upgraded to higher data rates and higher parallel test capabilities for unique lifetime value and return on investment.

The HSM Series leverages the per-pin timing architecture of the V93000 platform, and delivers the functionality to address the most demanding DRAM technologies, including DDR3, DDR4, XDR and GDDR. The system is flexible enough to address the requirements of future DRAM technologies, so that the test investments of the users are protected.

The V93000 HSM is scalable up to 12.8 Gbps with HSM HX, and offers compatibility with a range of production systems. The system has been proven in a number of R&D and validation labs worldwide, according to Verigy. Apart from V9300 HSM Platform, Verigy’s HSM3600 enables at-speed IO and at-speed core test for ultra-high-speed specialty DRAMs, while its HSM2200 is a high-speed test system for the economic production of DDR3 SDRAM and beyond.

According to Rabbi Islam, vice president of Verigy’s engineering and test unit, ISE Labs, the V93000 HSM system is the only solution available that addresses the requirements of high-speed characterization and failure analysis, and with its inclusion into the portfolio, ISE Labs gets a significant advantage as it becomes the only test house in the local area to offer testing of next-generation, high-speed memory devices. Islam added that Verigy’s V93000 HSM system completes ISE Labs’ turnkey solution that includes temperature control, handlers, probers and load board design.

In March this year, Spreadtrum Communications, Inc., a Chinese wireless baseband chipset provider, had selected the Verigy V93000 system for production testing of its China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting mobile digital television decoder/demodulator semiconductors.
