SMB Targeted Splashtop For Business Launched by DeviceVM

DeviceVM, a supplier of instant-on computing solutions recently launched an instant-on platform targeted mainly at the small and medium business segment called “Splashtop for Business.”

Officials with the company said they intend to distribute Splashtop through the world’s three biggest PC vendors towards the end of 2009.

This latest launch is an addition to their existing suite of Splashtop products an instant-on application which is intended for enterprise use that makes quicker, safer and more dependable accessibility to cloud computing and other services for enterprises possible.

With Splashtop for Business, users can enter the corporate network and intranet without fully booting Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows. A conventional operating system requires many minutes to completely boot up which often irritates employees. Splashtop for Business allows employees to enter the corporate and public cloud computing environment over LAN, Wi-Fi and 3G. Users can also connect to the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or “VDI” derived solutions from Citrix and VMware from off-site locations.

By choosing to install Splashtop for Business as a corporate OS using VDI, enterprises can minimize Total Cost of Ownership  for PCs by ruling out OS licensing fees and lowering IT management costs. Along with the Windows OS, it can contribute to improving productivity and optimize employee productivity by offering instant-on capability and a safe and quick remote connectivity to Web-based content, email and corporate applications.

Employees also enjoy better mobility through a virtual desktop solution on their laptops. Currently, the application supports the most popular virtual desktop solutions from Citrix and VMware.
