Intrinsyc and Kryos Team Up to Provide Engineering Services and Resell Licenses for BlackBerry Applications

Mobile software provider Intrinsyc today announced a new value-added reseller agreement with Kryos, creator of the “Velocity” mobile platform, to better market its BlackBerry (News - Alert) product portfolio.

Under terms of the agreement, Intrinsyc will resell Velocity license subscriptions to enterprises, carriers and independent software vendors. Additionally, Intrinsyc will offer a wide range of professional services, from training to technical support, for Velocity customers.

Trevor Nimegeers, president and CEO of Kryos, said the partnership will strengthen its overall strategy. Kryos’ Velocity platform is designed to help companies that want to develop software for BlackBerry smartphones, such as the executive dashboard apps used by access-enterprise systems, the company said.

“Our customers have been asking for a strong partner who can use Velocity to develop and roll out multiple applications for them in a short timeframe, such as teaching them how to use Velocity or supporting their internal development efforts around application design for BlackBerry smartphones,” Nimegeers said. Additionally, “the partnership will help both companies solve technical challenges like offline transactions and power management.”

Speaking of BlackBerry, during an upcoming TMC (News - Alert) Webinar, “The End of the BlackBerry Help Desk? How to Get Your Mobile Users To Solve Their Own Issues … and Love It!,” to be Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. Eastern, Brian Reed, vice president of products at BoxTone (News - Alert), will discuss new on-device applications and self-service Web portals that help users to resolve their own issues quickly – without going straight to IT.
