Fujitsu Debuts Next Generation PRIMERGY BX900 Blade Server System

Fujitsu (News - Alert) has released a new product dubbed ‘Dynamic Cube’, the next generation PRIMERGY BX900 blade server system specifically designed to increase performance in virtualization and energy efficiency, according to the company.

Fujitsu hopes that the new product will help them expand their program for x86 servers and the blade server system features Intel (News - Alert) Xeon 5500 series of processors, built on the new Nehalem architecture and Fujitsu ServerView Resource Coordinator VE (RCVE) virtualization-management software.

Fujitsu is a provider of IT-based business solutions for the global marketplace.

The company says  Dynamic Cube is built on four main principles. The first is to bring down energy costs by employing dynamic cooling and power concepts. The second is making use of dynamic virtualization to increase improvements in operational performance. The third is with dynamic high availability offering unmatched uptime. Lastly,  the new system architecture offers dynamic scalability which in turn warrants investment protection.

With these four principles as base the PRIMERGY BX900 blade server system is said to offer professionals and IT administrators with a complete dynamic server infrastructure, designed in a single cube, consequently reducing the costs.

“The four guiding principles of the PRIMERGY BX900 design ensure that it meets the needs of data center operations where achieving cost savings and increasing IT systems’ agility are immediate concerns,” said Jens-Peter Seick, senior vice-president, x86 Server Product Division at Fujitsu Technology Solutions (News - Alert).

The PRIMERGY BX 900 can reduce energy consumption by operating at new levels of power efficiency based on the Fujitsu Cool-safe cooling and design concept.

By making use of the performance delivered by Intel's latest Xeon 5500 series of processors, the new PRIMERGY BX900 can support a large memory capacity and delivers support for virtualization applications. And also Intel technology has enabled Fujitsu to offer its customers a higher performance and more reliable server.

Fujitsu officials have stated that the new blade server system is a result of the company’s investments in datacenter facilities, network operations, managed services and cloud computing products and services. With these investments the company hopes to be a frontrunner in providing IT infrastructure solutions in North America.

The Fujitsu PRIMERGY BX900 will help Fujitsu meet customer needs in vertical markets such as datacenter consolidation in manufacturing; records storage management in healthcare; power conservation in education and government public sectors; and reliable high availability in financial services and telecommunications.

The company has stated that PRIMERGY BX900 can be ordered now and the pricing starts at $10,791.
