CACE Technologies, the company which offers tools to the networking industry, has launched a new product of its
AirPcap family, the AirPcap Nx, a USB-based WLAN capture adapter.
According to the company, this newly launched adapter can support for 802.11a/b/g/n, packet injection, multi-channel aggregation, multiple external antennas connectors, and enhanced hardware timestamps. 802.11n is a technology that enables Wi-Fi networks to perform better, faster and over a larger area.
Founded in 2005, CACE Technologies has been making committed effort in setting a standard in the network analysis industry. The company’s product portfolio includes the AirPcap family of wireless packet capture adapters for Windows, the TurboCap full-rate dual-port Gigabit Ethernet capture and injection solution, and CACE Pilot, a powerful and intuitive network analysis, visualization and reporting tool.
Additionally, CACE also provides support and development the two open-source networking tools,
WinPcap and
Wireshark, including commercial support and training for these tools.
The company’s AirPcap products are affordable and easy-to-deploy packet capture solution for Windows. They can capture complete 802.11 data, management, and control frames that can be viewed in Wireshark thereby providing in-depth protocol dissection and analysis capabilities.
AirPcap Nx offers unique capabilities that include: packet transmission across all supported channels (a, b, g, and n), 2 x 2 MIMO with two internal antennas, two integrated MC-Card connectors for optional external antennas, multi-channel aggregation (with 2 or more adapters), and full integration with Wireshark and CACE Pilot.
CACE believes that this newly launched AirPcap Nx is a much-anticipated and significantly enhanced replacement for CACE Technologies’ AirPcap N 32bit CardBus adapter.
“We’ve been selling our CardBus-based AirPcap N adapter for over a year with great success while waiting for the release of comparable USB technology," said Gianluca Varenni, product manager of AirPcap Nx.
“Our switch to a USB form factor is not only practical from a portability standpoint but, because many newer laptops ship without CardBus slots, it’s an important evolutionary step for the product. With the new technology based on the Atheros (

With this announcement, AirPcap is now available in four versions: AirPcap Classic, AirPcap Tx, AirPcap Ex, and AirPcap Nx. A single unit Nx adapter is $698. A 3-Pack, which includes three Nx adapters and drivers, a 4-port mini-USB Hub, and Network Toolkit download, is $2,094.
