Although new Internet computing models and IT infrastructures are accelerating Web businesses, these have also created more complexity due to the sheer number of applications, lack of interoperability standards and volume of proprietary code. That’s according to Keynote Systems (

Alert), a provider of on-demand mobile and Internet test/measurement solutions.
Through its interactive testing solutions, Keynote enables Web teams to perform real-time performance testing and analysis of complex Web 2.0 applications for immediate performance feedback. These solutions help them identify the root cause of performance issues instantly, reducing costly mistakes in production.
Keynote Systems said it is opening its cloud infrastructure giving free access to
Keynote Interactive Testing Environment (KITE) to any Web team that intends to deliver superior performing applications to end users in any city, in any “cloud.”
KITE is designed for testing and analyzing the performance of Web applications across the Internet “cloud.” It offers instant testing from desktop and from a pre-selected group of geographical locations in North America, Europe and Asia.
KITE acts as the gateway into Keynote’s global test and measurement infrastructure, allowing users to upload Web transaction scripts from their desktop to Keynote’s network and receive free instant performance data from different locations across the globe. Users can upload the same scripts to 240 locations worldwide to continue monitoring and gathering performance data globally.
Cloud computing offers infinite possibilities for Web developers, allowing them to focus on building an application and relying on other companies to deal with the complexities of deploying testing software or managing the underlying infrastructure that hosts their application, said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote.
“With a Web application’s performance depending on a variety of clouds’ infrastructures, ad servers and other third party content, it’s more important than ever for Internet companies to test and measure applications to ensure a superior end user experience,” Chaudhary added.
Keynote provides measurement data and testing capabilities in four areas of businesses: Web performance, mobile quality, streaming and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and customer experience/UX. Keynote has an infrastructure of 2,400 measurement computers and mobile devices in over 240 locations around the world.
