Sogeti Joins Microsoft's Windows Vista Application Compatibility Factory Program

Sogeti Group, a provider of professional IT services and member of the Capgemini Group, said that it has been selected by Microsoft (News - Alert) to be a key service partner in their Windows Vista Application Compatibility Factory program.

This latest initiative had teamed up Microsoft with a select number of System Integrators to help customers prepare for the Windows Vista operating system, according to the company officials.

Most of the enterprises have hundreds of applications, and this makes application compatibility a matter of concern for companies that are planning to roll out Windows Vista.

Michael Del Sarto, group marketing manager from the Windows Client Marketing Team at Microsoft, said in a statement that Microsoft recognizes that compatibility of in-house developed applications can be a barrier to deployment of Windows Vista across the enterprise.

With the help of Microsoft's Windows Vista Application Compatibility Factory (ACF) program, enterprises can assess and remediate their existing applications to ensure Windows Vista compatibility.

Sanjeev Agarwal, vice president of Global Microsoft Alliance at Sogeti, said that the ACF program reduces the complexity and speeds up the process, so that enterprises can benefit more quickly from the benefits that Vista can provide, enterprise-wide.

Officials said that their company’s dedicated network of expert ACF consultants will supplement its existing team of 6,000 Microsoft practice engineers currently delivering Sogeti’s business methodologies worldwide.

“Sogeti Group, as a Microsoft Gold Certified partner and now also an ACF partner, will work with clients to identify the application compatibility obstacles, assess application inventory, determine the best course of action and conduct remediation services,” said Sarto.

Sogeti Operates in 24 U.S. locations and its business model is built on providing customers with local accountability and vast delivery options. Company offers a comprehensive portfolio of services including applications management, business consulting, enterprise technologies, IBM (News - Alert) and open solutions, managed testing, Microsoft solutions, high tech consulting, and project consulting services.

In September, Sogeti announced it was recognized as a Silver Certified Partner within IFS’ Strategic Partner Program. IFS, the global enterprise application company that develops, supplies and implements component-based enterprise software, added Sogeti as a Silver Certified Partner based on their experience and deep knowledge in deploying IFS solutions.
