itX Adds DataCore to Virtualization Portfolio

itX Group Limited, one of Australia’s leading value-add distributors of IT solutions, has signed on as a new DataCore value-added distributor. itX offers a broad portfolio of virtualization solutions, which enable their partners to fulfill customer demand for end-to-end virtualization, spanning desktops, servers and now storage with DataCore. Under the agreement, itX will distribute the entire line of DataCore’s storage virtualization, disaster recovery and continuous data protection solutions.

 

DataCore said that itX meets the wide range of requirements needed to serve partners targeting small, mid-size and large enterprises by offering high-level pre-sales technical support and knowledgeable account management in conjunction with leading-edge technologies.

 

George Teixeira, president and CEO, DataCore Software finds itX to be a natural fit as a DataCore partner. DataCore was attracted to itX because of their stellar track record with Citrix and VMware, among other virtualization providers. He noted that the relationship extends DataCore Software’s distribution within Australia and brings additional value to resellers through itX’s virtualization-focused product offerings, their acclaimed technical services and their commitment to quality of service.

 

itX already enjoys successful distribution partnerships with virtualization vendors Citrix, VMware and Vizioncore, as well as with other major IT vendors, including Sun Microsystems (News - Alert), Oracle and Red Hat. Greg Newham, itX general manager said that DataCore Software extends the enduring benefits of going virtual all the way through to storage.

 

Newham explained that by adding the industry's leading storage and SAN infrastructure management software to their portfolio of virtualization solutions, itX broadens its ability to deliver cost-effective iSCSI or Fibre Channel-based SAN, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

 

According to David Bull, director, DataCore Australia, their company makes it simple for users to virtualize their disks, achieve full utilization of their storage investment, enhance performance and attain the highest levels of availability and data protection. He observed that DataCore’s manufacturer-independent approach to delivering powerful SAN-wide features enables any vendor’s storage to no longer be constrained by hardware limitations and short lifecycles. This approach makes it much easier to adapt to change and deploy, protect and migrate storage along with virtual servers, desktops and applications.

 

Commenting on this announcement, DataCore’s Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific Peter Thompson (News - Alert) said that by signing on as a value-added distributor for DataCore Software, itX will promote and distribute DataCore’s virtual storage, business continuity, disaster recovery and SAN software products to its network of resellers throughout Australia.

 

Thompson sees this new partnership as an extension of DataCore’s global channel strategy to align with successful VMware and Citrix distributors in key high-growth markets worldwide. The relationship will benefit both partners, as through itX, DataCore will gain market penetration and itX will have a new virtual infrastructure vendor that expands the virtualization opportunity for its partner base to include storage.
