Questra IDM Application Suite Added to Fujitsu Siemens Computers' Portfolio

Fujitsu Siemens (News - Alert) Computers today announced that it has chosen the Intelligent Device Management (IDM) Application Suite from Questra to provide an early warning system to its products.

Questra IDM Application Suite is an auto-intelligent remote support solution from Questra, which can monitor, identify and solve problems occurring in various IT systems. Questra software agents will transform Fujitsu Siemens Computer products into service-enabled systems with ability to automatically fix the problems, without onsite intervention.

Questra solution will be deployed on all computer systems manufactured and serviced by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. The first one to get the pack will be Primergy server.

The Questra IDM Application Suite features enhanced problem solving, with detailed incident and system configuration data collected that is fed into a system running the SAP (News - Alert) Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Questra IDM solution offers benefits in four key business areas: service handling, software management, pricing and ordering, and content delivery.

By monitoring and managing the devices, IDM solution enables businesses to deliver better services at a lower cost-to-serve and higher customer retention rates.

Automation of software products improves the efficiency of software update process. It helps to maintain accurate records of changes to customer devices and helps with regulatory compliance.

IDM usage monitoring feature supports “pay as you go” pricing models, enabling proactive consumables sales and inventory management.

IDM Suite content delivery feature enables product vendors to supply necessary contents to their customers and run the operations more efficiently.

“IT systems and infrastructures continue to become increasingly complex and dynamic. To have actual and detailed information about computers as well as data centres is key to increase system availability and security,” said Richard Schlauri, executive vice president, Infrastructure Services at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, in a statement.

“The Questra IDM Application Suite takes our service approach to a new level. Proactive remote monitoring combined with automated problem solving adds value to customers. Reporting problems via phone or email to a helpdesk agent becomes an outdated practice, as today’s machine-to-machine communication is more efficient and can even prevent future problems from arising. Today, this technology is an innovation but we are sure that it will quickly become a standard in the IT services business,” added Schlauri.

Emil Wang, CEO of Questra said IDM Application Suite would revolutionize the traditional IT Service Desk at Fujitsu Siemens Computers by creating a “digital IT Service Desk.”

“This is the dawn of a new age in truly managed IT services – from individual notebooks and printers through to enterprise-class server and storage devices,” said Wang.

Questra is the first company to receive investment funds from the SAP NetWeaver Fund.
