John Deere Selects Dispatching Solutions for Information Technology

Deere and Company has selected Dispatching Solutions Inc. for supplying information technology. John Deere dealers across the world will be provided a full suite of software solutions and GPS-based asset tracking units by Dispatching Solutions.

Deere corporate systems and local dealership data will be integrated with the DSi software suite. Apart from improving scheduling efficiency, customer service experiences for both service and transportation operations will be therefore enhanced.

In a release, Jim Jackson, CEO of Dispatching Solutions said, “We are excited to support John Deere and its dealership community by offering the technology needed to realize their vision of a more effective service organization.”

Centralized business information, configurable workflow processes, and live-updating location data are combined by the software developed by Dispatching Solutions. Services can be therefore organized by dispatchers and dealers using these features. All essential components of field service operations are linked together by DSi's flagship application, DSi Service Manager.

These include order management, GPS asset monitoring, preventative maintenance scheduling, labor tracking, and invoicing. Errors are reduced and time is saved due to features like skill matching, drag-and-drop scheduling, intelligent mapping and routing, and flexible search filtering.

The delivery of real-time information to customers, technicians, and sales personnel can be customized by dealerships. This is possible through the use of ARES, a business rule management system, in conjunction with DSi Service Manager. Real measurable savings can be therefore created and busy personnel can be also freed up. Apart from improving dealership margins; work time, appointment lead times, and work-to-bill cycle times can be greatly reduced

Summary, Exception, or Detail reports on a recurring basis can be created by the dealerships by using the integrated reporting system or systems like Cognos (News - Alert) or Crystal Reports. These reports will help them track performance and business standards.

Brian Baluyot, vice president of Business Development at Dispatching Solutions said, “This partnership will make a great impact on how technology is utilized within John Deere dealerships. We are raising the bar on service standards with our optimized, paperless products for transport and service management.”

In other news, to recognize the role that America's farmers play in feeding the world this harvest season, John Deere recently said that it is attempting a world-record at constructing a full-sized sculpture of its new S-Series combine from more than 300,000 cans of food at the John Deere Pavilion in downtown Moline, Illinois.
