CargoWise Continues Expansion with Acquisition of VivaSoft

The acquisition of VivaSoft, a Canadian-based logistics technology provider has given CargoWise (News - Alert) an opportunity to extend and expand its world class ediEnterprise application in Canada.

CargoWise CEO and founder, Richard White, said in a statement, “We are excited by this expansion into the Canadian market and the expertise and talent our new Canadian team will bring to CargoWise.”

A provider of logistics technology solutions,.CargoWise plans significant investment in Canadian capabilities and will facilitate the integration of applications into its powerful global platform. The deal with VivaSoft is also expected to contribute to the growth of the company, which is currently stated to be more than 215 percent across the North American market.

While VivaSoft founder, president and chief architect, Eric Crespin will take over as CargoWise Business Development Manager in Canada, the other staff will, in addition to providing support for VivaSoft customers, contribute to the ongoing development of CargoWise’s other applications.

White, elaborating on the consequences of the partnership spoke of the new CargoWise applications that would become available in the Canadian market. He made special mention of the brand new Canadian Customs application suite for all entry types and messages and the global CargoWise Hosting application that would become available via high-quality geo clustered data centers in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.

These new applications were in addition to the comprehensive global logistics solutions that CargoWise would normally be offering.

In other news, CargoWise recently signed an agreement with multimodal transport and logistics provider, Geodis Wilson, to implement its global logistics product ediEnterprise.

The company said that ediEnterprise becomes the core component for Geodis Wilson's NextGen (News - Alert) logistics management project. The new system is key to simplifying and automating the operations planning, freight, customs clearance, logistics, operations, billing and customer functions across Geodis Wilson's global business.
