Lancope Unveils New Version of StealthWatch System

Lancope has announced the availability of the newest version of its monitoring platform, the StealthWatch System 6.1, the company has announced.

StealthWatch Management Console manages, coordinates and configures all StealthWatch appliances to correlate security and network intelligence across the enterprise.

To keep up with the explosive rise in flow data among today's enterprises, StealthWatch 6.1 includes the StealthWatch FlowCollector 4000, which features massive scalability – up to 120,000 flows per second (fps) per collector. While still fitting into a 2U footprint, the FlowCollector 4000 increases the maximum monitoring capacity of the StealthWatch System to three million fps, and also includes extensible storage capabilities of up to four terabytes (TB).

“Lancope is dedicated to helping organizations leverage the power of flow data to seamlessly improve security posture and network performance," said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope in a company press release. "With StealthWatch 6.1, we have significantly expanded these efforts by doubling our flow monitoring rate and storage capacity, while also extending sophisticated, behavioral analytics to the perimeter for unprecedented network visibility.”

With the behavioral analysis of flow data from perimeter devices, version 6.1 also integrates in-depth intelligence from the internal network. The system delivers greater contextual awareness for improving network and security operations by combining internal and external network monitoring. To provide unparalleled visibility into network traffic, Lancope's StealthWatch System harnesses the power of NetFlow and other flow data from existing network devices, the company stated in a press release.

Recently, the company announced that it will continuously monitor network traffic by leveraging Cisco’s (News - Alert) NetFlow at Cisco Live, taking place July 10-14, in Las Vegas, in an effort to demonstrate the power of its product.  Lancope’s StealthWatch product delivers unprecedented visibility into network traffic – which can be useful in vastly improving both performance and security – by providing comprehensive monitoring capabilities across a wide range of Cisco routers and switches and the ASA firewall.
