Promethean and KUNO Jointly Launch Tablet Learning System for Education Sector

Promethean has announced the launch of an advanced tablet learning system for the education sector in association with KUNO. The new device, Promethean KUNO leverages a cloud-based platform for easy configuration and management, designed to address the modern day learning needs of K-12 schools. The device is compatible with software and other applications used by most of the districts’ curriculum. ActivEngage2 software, pre-loaded into the device, empowers teachers to gauge students’ understanding levels, thus making Promethean KUNO a powerful tool for enabling 1-to-1 learning.

In a release, Lupita Knittel, senior vice president of Global Marketing at Promethean, said: “The Promethean KUNO is designed to support the way today's students learn. It is a powerful teaching device with software to create an active learning environment where differentiated instruction, peer-to-peer collaboration and feedback driven learning can help every student succeed, not just the most outgoing or knowledgeable.”

Promethean KUNO features Promethean Manage, a web-based portal that supports remote configuration and management of the device, enabling mass customization of content for a group, school or even a district. District configurations and course material is stored on a cloud-based platform enabling targeted customization required for a specific grade, course and instructors. Individual profiles and customized mobile operating interface allows students to access content based on their personal schedule. Web filter embedded at root level ensures internet security, thus allowing the schools and libraries to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act for enabling students to access secured education material on the school network as well as on other private networks.

Speaking of the development, J.R. Gayman, president of CurriculumLoft, parent company of the KUNO brand, said, “We are very pleased to have established this strategic alliance since it allows more teachers and students to benefit from the KUNO tablet. 1-to-1 learning is much more than just the device, it's about delivering content-rich applications and relevant curriculum that truly engages students while being fully managed by the teacher and school district.”

Promethean is engaged in developing software and solutions for the education sector to create an innovative learning environment enabling digital learning in every classroom. KUNO, owned by CurriculumLoft, enables schools to digitalize their content by moving away from conventional text book methods of teaching.
