Homeowners Choice, Inc. has launched a new information technology division. This division, named “Exzeo,” will make use of technologies developed by the company for its own IT needs, but will make said technologies available to third parties at a later date.
Currently, there is little information about Exzeo, but Homeowners Choice promises that it will allow companies to make the most of their employees. It was initially developed primarily for its insurance business, but it can be adapted for use in most fields, as long as they have a need for information technology.
Of course, there is a high demand for that. Most IT departments are struggling to keep up with constantly changing demands from workers and their devices, so Exzeo’s technologies may very well be able to assist with that. There will be more known as it is released to third parties.
"We produced these technologies to optimize the productivity of our own personnel," says Paresh Patel, Homeowners Choice’s chief executive officer. "But we believe they will enable any organization to optimize its human capital. By forming the Exzeo division we intend to give this technology group its own identity, distinct from our core insurance business, and we hope to enhance shareholder value."
While the technology used by Exzeo was originally developed in-house for the company’s personal use, it would be selfish and foolish to keep it to themselves when there’s a market just waiting for something new to help it out. At the very least, other insurance companies should be able to make use of it, but perhaps this will allow the company to expand into new markets.
