Redknee Announces Acquisition of Nokia Siemens BSS

Redknee (News - Alert) is looking to be considered one of the leading providers of business critical monetization services. The company apparently believes that one of the ways it can accomplish this goal is by partnering with one of the top tech companies in the world, Nokia Siemens. The two companies have announced a partnership that will see Redknee acquiring Nokia’s (News - Alert) Business Support Systems (BSS) unit.

Redknee actually announced its intent to go through with the purchase on December 5th of last year but that acquisition has now gone through. With the partnership, Redknee will be able to expand its market share by more than 200 specific business customers across 90 different countries. These customers are almost all Tier-1 operators. The acquisition also means that Redknee is able to offer the most detailed and agile converged billing service around.

The acquisition of Nokia Siemens’ BSS means that the company has access to high speed and highly scalable tools that will help the company serve its Tier-1 customers with charging, customer care and payment solutions. The company, which currently boasts as many as 1,600 employees, will be able to further improve upon its cloud based and Software –as- a -Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) offerings as well.

Lucas Skoczkowski, Redknee's CEO issued a recent release that highlighted the acquisition as well as talked about what it meant for his company. "We are very excited about this acquisition, which creates one of the largest independent providers of real-time monetization and subscriber management software solutions for communications service providers. We will become the provider of choice for real-time monetization systems that enable our customers to excel in delivering services to their subscribers,” the CEO said.

Skoczkowski added that his company received a ton of great feedback when it comes to the reactions to this particular deal.
