SaaS Startup Nevales Rolls Out Next-Gen Security Device

India-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) startup Nevales Networks has rolled out a next-generation security gateway device designed to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) reduce cost and complexities with its single security solution.

The cloud-based managed security services provider, recently named in TechCircle’s Top 10 SaaS startups of India, also launched its new brand at a launch event in Mumbai.

The consumerization of IT has brought a new era to businesses, many of which are adopting cloud-based services to meet these challenges, according to Ravinshanker, CEO at Nevales Networks.

“With consumerization of IT, the new era is on, in which we’re reimagining how our products and services can help emerging businesses throughout India realize their full potential. Considering the growth potential of the emerging businesses that India is bound to witness, the need to have a brand that can stand as an independent entity was strongly felt,” he said in a company statement. “Nevales has so far been operating under the radar focusing on R&D, technology innovation and building customer base. This change was important as the company was ready for official launch and public availability.”

Nevales’ new security gateway device – Nevales SG, which is the size of a smartphone – comes with built-in support for wireline and wireless technologies including 2/3/4G and Wi-Fi.

The device is designed to provide seamless Internet connectivity and address the misuse of applications, e-mail threats and malicious Web access.

With its “futuristic form factor” and smart design, the device can be wall mounted. The fan-less device, specially designed for Indian weather conditions, can withstand a temperature of up to 122 degrees, company officials said.

Nevales adopted the advanced technology using the Intel Atom Processor (News - Alert) E600 Series that enables Nevales SG with faster computing, less heat and better energy efficiency.

The Nevales platform is a combination of an on-premise security gateway device and cloud services, according to Kaushik Thakkar, cofounder and head of corporate development at Nevales Networks.

“With the new security gateway, Nevales further extends its vision on thought market leadership, how we can help emerging businesses to increase productivity and grow securely, with security as an enabler,” he said.

The Nevales SG integrates several security features such as firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, anti-virus, anti-spam, surf detection, spyware guarding, access management, bandwidth management, traffic monitoring and reporting in a single management platform – and is available on a subscription model.
