WSO2 Partners with Wipro

WSO2 has announced a partnership with Wipro (News - Alert) to provide open source middleware solutions and value-added services to customers. It will work with Wipro using its award-winning platforms, WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform and WSO2 Stratos (News - Alert) cloud middleware platform.

By offering a combined and componentized middleware platform that adapts to the specific requirements of any enterprise IT project – on premises or in the cloud, WSO2 Carbon raises the bar for middleware.

The WSO2 Carbon core framework functions as “Eclipse for servers” and consists of common capabilities shared by all WSO2 products.

Offering support for more core services than any other available PaaS today, WSO2 Stratos is the most complete, enterprise-grade, open PaaS. WSO2 Stratos, the software behind the WSO2 StratosLive Java PaaS, is available as a fully supported product that can be installed and run on-premises, unlike many cloud platforms.

When it comes to integration and middleware requirements, Wipro is a partner of choice for many enterprises across industry segments. In North America as well as EMEA, Wipro’s Enterprise Business Integration Practice has been rated among the leaders in SOA and integration by industry analysts.

“Enterprise customers are increasingly demanding open source alternatives to entrenched middleware players to gain access to the forward edge of innovation. This is increasingly seen in areas such as cloud, mobile computing, social media, big data, real-time analytics, API management, and ecosystem enablement,” said Jonathan Marsh, WSO2 VP, Business Development and Product Design. “The ground-breaking features of the WSO2 middleware platform fit the bill perfectly. We will work jointly to address the growing demand for open source solutions.”

In 2011, the company unveiled its open source platforms: The WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform and WSO2 Stratos cloud middleware platform – both built on a common OSGi-compliant foundation. Whether they’re installed on-premises, in a private cloud, on a public cloud or hybrid cloud environment, the new platforms offer companies access to the latest WSO2 technology upgrades.
