By Katie GattoWhen it comes to defense contractors a lot of what is going on with projects is done under the radar, so when something cool happens out in the light we are a little bit curious about it.
Today EION Wireless, which for those of you who are not in the know is a Canadian manufacturer of broadband wireless products for the business and consumer markets, has made the announcement that KITS Telecom Company has completed the first stage of deployment for the EION’s Star4G 16e Mobile WiMAX (News - Alert) Base Stations, AAA & ASN Express Gateway Servers, and Fixed & Mobile end user CPE device. KITS Telecom Company has made the deployment in the Kurdistan area of Iraq at the request of TarinNet.
The information is significant because it will make the folks over at TarinNet the first service provider of WiMAX services at a fixed price in the region. This will bring high speed Internet capabilities for streaming to business and comsumer users in the region, and lead to a greater global connectivity.
The company has been involved, or is currently involved in many similar projects in other nations. Some of the nations involved include: Russia, Kazakhstan, India, Indonesia, USA, Thailand, Georgia, Nigeria, Tunisia, Kuwait, South Africa, Kenya, Portugal, Italy, Slovenia, and Mauritius. So, while the company is adding connectivity to developing areas there are a lot of options for future expansion in growth areas.
How does KITS Telecom feel about the progress that has been “EION’s Star4G platform is ideal for large service providers such as TarinNet that are starting to build out and launch 16e mobile WiMAX networks targeting residential and business users with data, voice over IP and video-on-demand services and with Video Surveillance over WiMAX services for security oriented projects across Northern Iraq,” said Mohammad Kamaki CEO of KITS Telecom Company in a release put out by the company.
