Westcon Group's Comstor Business Unit Announces Comstor UCS Selector

A Datatec Ltd subsidiary, Westcon Group, has a business unit or practice called Comstor. This Cisco (News - Alert)-supported unit has announced that it will be strengthening support for Cisco UCS B-series and C-series servers. As part of this announcement, the company revealed its new online configuration tool called the Comstor (News - Alert) UCS Selector, which will accelerate the company's offerings for business partners.

According to the press release, “Cisco UCS B-Series and C-Series servers are critical building blocks in the Cisco Unified Computing System™, a data center platform that unites compute, network, storage access, and virtualization into one cohesive system. The servers are standalone systems, managed using Cisco UCS Manager, which offers unified management with the UCS line.”

Vice President of Worldwide Distribution Sales at Cisco stated the UCS Selector is a tool that will provide channel partners with more efficiency and optimization for their customers.

The UCS Selector also allows Comstor business partners to choose the configuration type for Cisco UCS-B Series and C-Series servers. Requests will be submitted to a Comstor account manager and after they are verified, a pricing quote will be provided to the business partners using this service.

According to the release, “UCS Selector is updated regularly with the newest components and pricing. The site permits users to name each build with individual customers then save the detail for future use.”
