Scan, Save, Print and Share with Xerox BookCentre S7141

Harassed library staff looking for a fast and easy-to-use scanning solution can now rejoice, as the new self-service book scanning kiosk from Xerox – BookCentre S7141 – promises to 'literally take a load off.'

The Xerox BookCentre S7141, with a 17-inch touchscreen computer and a patented book-edge scanner, is the simplest and most complete self-service book scanning solution, allowing even a novice to scan, save and send files anywhere he/she wants.

While the book-edge scanner delivers distortion-free scans and protects the spine of the book, the ABBYY technology, which powers Xerox BookCentre S7141, helps in optical character recognition accuracy. ABBYY’s document recognition engine is also multi-lingual, automatically detecting more than184 languages.

Non-circulating books, historical records and genealogical files can scan with ease, automatically converting into the file format of choice, faxed or sent to mobile devices, shared and even printed. Confidential files are automatically encrypted to prevent unauthorized access.

It allows students to build personal libraries by sending the scanned pages to their iPads to be stored in iBooks for subsequent or immediate sharing.

While printing the scanned pages, the Xerox BookCentre S7141 needs to be connected to a Xerox or any other validated printer either directly or over the network. Before actually printing, users are provided with a preview. It can also easily and automatically crop, straighten and re-orient each page as it’s scanned.

The BookCentre S7141 also supports most leading billing systems, debit cards and major credit cards. It is integrated with major Inter Library Loan systems and supports popular print management vend systems.

The system features a one-year manufacturer’s warranty and is priced at $5,995.
