Connectria Teams Up with IBM i Platform to Offer Unparalleled Cloud Solution

As organizations move more data and applications to the cloud, they’ve begun to realize capital cost savings and greater IT flexibility, but they’re also discovering a new challenge: integration. Cloud migration cost and complexity bring with them a new set of information integration challenges. As more information is moved into the cloud, organizations are facing a migration of their corporate information into disconnected silos. Without some kind of secure, robust integration solution, these organizations will lose the data fidelity and accuracy they currently take for granted. Recently, Connectria (News - Alert) Hosting announced that it has launched a cloud solution for the IBM (News - Alert) i platform.

Based upon two years of testing, development and research done in cooperation with IBM, the platform offers a single, multifaceted solution that can be centrally implemented, monitored and controlled for all cloud services. According to Rich Waidmann, Connectria CEO and President, “The Power Systems platform has been an excellent technology in which Connectria has established strong expertise. We are very excited to offer these Cloud Solutions for a technology with such longevity and value. Now customers can leverage Connectria’s superior IBM i managed hosting services in a flexible and affordable cloud computing environment.”

Enterprises see cloud as a resource model and as an extension of their existing IT infrastructure. As a result, integration is likely to be a focal point as organizations put the cloud to work. Connectria provides three IBM i Cloud Hosting options to optimize a customer’s cost, performance and uptime needs. These include the Gold, Silver and Platinum Cloud services, respectively. Waidmann added, “With the addition of Connectria’s IBM i Cloud Hosting, Connectria continues its industry leadership hosting the broadest range of cloud computing platforms, with the ability to run Windows, Linux, IBM i, IBM AIX, and Oracle (News - Alert)/Sun Solaris within Connectria’s cloud computing infrastructure. No other cloud provider even comes close.”

This is significant because more complex and thorough cloud integration is necessary. Batch uploads, read-only integration and cloud silos aren't cutting it anymore; companies want integration between on-premise and cloud applications – a fact not lost on vendors. Solutions will be able to purchase the IBM i capacity and support they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it – backed by Connectria’s world-class 24/7 IBM i administration and support. They will also purchase Connectria’s world-renowned 24/7 IBM i administration and support to ensure their IBM i systems are secure, reliable, and running at peak performance.
