inSync: A New Data Protection Solution from Druva

In recent years, cases of data theft in both governments and the private sector have increased remarkably.

In an effort to address privacy concerns, Druva, a pioneer in secure, non-intrusive endpointprotection and availability solutions for the enterprise has introduced inSync, a new mobile-data protection solution.

“With a projection that 78 percent of enterprises will allow use of iPads by 2013, the need forrock-solid data loss prevention has become especially acute,” said Jaspreet Singh, CEO of Druva. “Today, many enterprises cannot track how many mobile devices a staffer uses on the job, much less protect that user’s data. That’s why we introduced a ‘manage the user’ model thathas put user-device management and security in the hands of IT. Today’s ‘manage the device’model has become obsolete.”

This inSync solution enables users to have a mobile-data solution that backs up data from all of their devices uniformly and it offers IT to keep backup either to an on-premises server or to the cloud. It enables users to instantly access and view data from all of their devices on each of thosedevices.

Rajesh Kumar Sharma, assistant IT manager, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, said, “Druva inSync has been architected to counter the real and potential risks of data loss, and today it not only safeguards sensitive customer data for PwC but also has helped us maintain a strong security posture.”

Users can improve productivity by accessing and viewing data from all of their devices on each of those devices, from a single desktop interface. It removes complexity, creating a single user profile that encompasses all of the user’s mobile devices.

In other news, Druva recently announced that inSync Enterprise can now support five times more users per server (10,000 users, up from 2,000), thereby significantly increasing the scalability of each server.

For on-premises deployments, inSync Enterprise now also offers a new management application, inSync Unify, to enable a single management console across multiple inSync server installations. Druva's unique scalable, block-level deduplication technology with HyperCache allows inSync to support massive amounts of users and data across any combination of physical or virtual servers.
