The company has recently announced aTCA-6200, a next-generation AdvancedTCA (ATCA) processor blade with two 1.8 GHz eight-core Intel Xeon processors.
The features provided by aTCA-6200 include: Single AMC.0 Mid-size bay; Intel QuickPath Interconnect; two Intel Xeon processor E5 (8C/16T); eight memory sockets support DDR3-1600 REG/ECC up to 128 GB; Intel Patsburg-B chipset; a single AMC.0 mid-size bay; dual 10GBASE-KX4 Fabric Interface channels; and Intel Hyper-Threading Technology. For its AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) technology, ADLINK offers complete platform solutions that offer high-density processing power, faster data throughput, and intelligent system management, the company stated in a press release.
“With its two eight-core Intel Xeon processors E5-2648L, eight sockets for DDR3-1600 VLP RDIMM memory up to 128GB capacity, and one mid-size AMC bay, the aTCA-6200 delivers the computing power of 32 concurrent threads, massive I/O and memory capacity, and flexible connectivity for high-end telecom and media server applications requiring carrier-grade performance," said Eric Kao, director of ADLINK's Embedded Computing Product Segment.
With its Xeon processors, Intel caters to non-consumer server, workstation and embedded system markets. The company has released several generations of x86 and x86-64 processors under the Xeon brand name. ADLINK aTCA-6200 will be using Intel Xeon processors E5-2648L, the Intel C604 chipset, DDR3-1600 memory up to 128GB, and a PICMG (News - Alert) mid-size AMC bay. With this, ADLINK expects to achieve unprecedented improvements in network performance and storage capabilities, the company has stated.
