basysKom, Codero, Gluster and Nixu Open, well know names in the IT industry have announced that they are joining the Linux Foundation (News - Alert), the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux.
These four companies will now be part in creating opportunities using the Linux platform and power the majority of the world's stock exchanges, websites and supercomputers. It is also the foundation for next-generation mobile devices and embedded systems, while enabling new innovations such as the smart grid and highly visible technology advancements such as IBM's (News
- Alert) Watson Supercomputer.
Eva Brucherseifer, Managing Director from basysKom, a development service provider for Qt solutions, WebKit technology, frameworks and applications, said that "Linux is powering next-generation mobile device and application development.”
"Our Linux Foundation membership will facilitate a deeper level of collaboration on Linux between us and the rest of the stakeholders in this space," Brucherseifer added.
The other joiner, Codero is in to optimized infrastructure and creates scalable environments using dedicated, managed and cloud hosting. All Codero services, including dedicated Linux server hosting, are backed by SAS (News - Alert) 70 Type II secure data centers, live 24/7/365 U.S.-based support, and a seasoned staff with international experience in the hosting business for more than 16 years.
Speaking on this occasion, Nicholas Gaugler, Vice President of Development and Engineering at Codero said that their customers depend on Linux-based IT and web hosting services. Gluster and Nixu Open are the new members to Linux foundation. Gluster provider of open source storage for public, private and hybrid clouds, whereas the Nixu Open helps companies ensure the security of embedded systems through consultancy and development of open source components.
