Opengear, Cormant Join Hands for Better Control and Visibility for Remote Physical Infrastructure

Opengear (News - Alert), provider of next generation console server and remote management solutions; and Cormant, developers of CableSolve, a market leading physical layer IT infrastructure management system; have recently joined hands to enable MSPs, VOIP Service providers and others and ensure centralized management, secure access, control and visibility into all physical IT assets behind firewalls.

"The CableSolve IT Infrastructure Management solution provides infrastructure visibility, ensures accurate change control and meets corporate compliance, governance and security requirements," said Paul Goodison, CEO of Cormant, in a statement. "Opengear's secure in-band and out-of-band infrastructure access, coupled with CableSolve's single, standard repository, ensures complete visibility, centralized secure access and control of the entire physical IT infrastructure."

"CableSolve and Opengear engineers started working together leading up to this year's InteropNet in Las Vegas," said Bob Waldie, CEO of Opengear, in a statement. "We found that our products complement each other well in providing visibility and control over all the physical assets in edge networks that have hundreds of connections. CableSolve communicates with Opengear console servers to manage all the gear commonly found in remote networks including Cisco (News - Alert), F9 and others."

Opengear leverages 10/100 Ethernet, embedded cellular 3G, V.92 modem, 802.11 Wi-Fi, and optional dual Ethernet access to provide secure in-band and out-of-band access and remote management solutions. The company designs and manufactures next generation console servers for secure remote access and control of routers, switches, servers, firewalls, uninterruptible power supplies, power distribution units and environmental monitoring devices. On the other hand, CableSolve provides additional visibility and reporting and sends alerts on any changes (for example, when there is a failure of a serial device). CableSolve provides total portability of all records, ensuring that data is always up-to-date. The holistic view of the IT infrastructure CableSolve provides means better, faster, more accurate decisions when planning and making changes.
