To improve user productivity and better business applications, Blue Coat (News - Alert) Systems has introduced Blue Coat ProxySG version 6 Acceleration Edition appliance for WAN optimization and recently it has attained Oracle (News - Alert) Validated Integration with the Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 and 12.1 and Siebel CRM release 7.8 and 8.1 through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN).
According to a press release, it accelerates the remote use of Oracle E-Business Suite and Siebel applications in branch offices where network latency, congestion and packet loss slow centrally run applications.
Blue Coat WAN Optimization appliances compensate for conditions of the Wide Area Network (WAN) that cause centralized applications to perform more slowly in branch and remote offices. It offers users with a strong and adjustable solution for optimizing file access, email, storage and backup while also providing advanced optimization technologies for Web, cloud and video applications.
In a statement, Kevin O'Brien, senior director of ISV and SaaS (News - Alert) Strategy at Oracle said that the Oracle Validated Integration applies a rigorous technical review and test process, and achieving Oracle Validated Integration through Oracle PartnerNetwork gives customers confidence that the integration between Blue Coat's ProxySG Acceleration Edition appliance and the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle's Siebel CRM have been validated and that the products work together as designed.
Blue Coat WAN Optimization appliances enable video to scale across the enterprise and protect against video floods that can overtake business-critical traffic optimized by traditional WAN optimization appliances. These appliances have integrated caching and stream-splitting to greatly reduce the network load of on-demand and live video from the Web or internal servers.
Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president at Blue Coat Systems commented that WAN optimization from Blue Coat provides a comprehensive solution for optimizing and accelerating the full range of business applications and content.
In other company news, TMCnet reported that Blue Coat has upgraded its MACH5 to become the industry's first IPv6-compatible WAN optimizer.
