By Calvin AzuriR1Soft, a developer of Continuous Data Protection (CDP) disk-to-disk backup software, has announced the launch of CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition incorporating up-to-date disk-based backup storage and swifter Bare Metal Restore capabilities.
The CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition is R1Soft’s flagship product in its extensive lineup of high performance hosting and cloud infrastructure backup software.
In a release, David Wartell, vice president of R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies, said that “To take CDP to the next level, we went back to the drawing board and re-engineered the software from the ground-up. This first 3.0 Enterprise Edition release is intended to get the new performance improvements and industrial strength disk storage capabilities into the hands of our customers as quickly as possible. Even in its first release, CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition already reflects significantly improved performance, and there is much more to come.”
The on-disk journaling facility has been employed with the new 3.0 Disk Safe to ensure that archived backup data has been perfectly protected from the threat of corruption that can arise from various reasons such as data center power failures and crashes, thereby making it distinct from its competitors.
The highly flexible Disk Safe is capable of meeting the mounting storage demands of data centers with its whopping 64 Terabyte storage capacity. In addition, thousands of recovery points have also been provided for every protected server.
The new CDP 3.0 has been equipped with the customary asynchronous data replication functionality of R1Softs’s CDP backup software for cutting down backup windows from hours to minutes. In addition, it also incorporates the new flexible file and folder excludes feature for excluding individual folders and files from the block-level duplication process.
The BMR feature incorporated in CDP 3.0, which is the ideal disaster recovery tool aiding in the fast and proficient reestablishment of large file systems, is faster than its earlier versions. The forthcoming releases of CDP 3.0 Enterprise Edition would include more advanced functionalities such as Disk Safe encryption, Web hosting control panel features and file archiving.
