Mobiform Picked by Joy Mining to Offer Data Visualization

Mobiform Software, a provider of data visualization technology for high tech and heavy industry, announced that it signed an agreement to offer data visualization technology for use with products developed by Joy Mining Machinery, a manufacturer of underground mining equipment.

As per the multi-year agreement, Mobiform will offer part of its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system called Status, custom development and graphics design services to improve the monitoring of underground mining machinery developed by Joy.

“We look forward to providing Joy with technology that will help reduce costs and downtime while improving machine availability and utilization,” said Ron DeSerranno, CEO, Mobiform Software, in a statement.

Mobiform has already attracted a number of resellers and system integrators for promoting and using Status in commercial settings. Status is used to monitor one of the largest subway systems in the world. For example, Status is monitoring HVAC performance in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in China, railways in Italy, and is on some of the offshore drilling ships in the Gulf of Mexico.

Besides selling its own software products, Mobiform also licenses the technology it has developed to other software companies. The technology that Mobiform has developed has been licensed to numerous firms including three Fortune 500 companies. These licensing arrangements will provide long term, recurring, royalty-based revenue for Mobiform, company officials said.

Recently, Mobiform Software announced that its annual revenue increased by almost ten times. The substantial revenue growth allowed Mobiform to emerge from a technology development stage into a growth stage.

2010 was a difficult period for Mobiform’s clients. Many of them slowed spending for major projects and modernization.

However, during this period, Mobiform entered multi-year technology license agreements with two Fortune 500 companies. The company significantly expanded its international re-seller network in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North and South America.
