Genius Inside Creates On-Premise Edition of Its Project Management Software

Genius Inside, a dealer in project management software that improves project selection, planning, staffing, execution and tracking, launched an on-premise edition of its PPM (News - Alert) Solution for security-conscious users at Lotusphere 2011.

Designed to adapt to any organization’s business model, Genius Inside explained that its Genius Project Enterprise delivers a highly flexible and configurable solution allowing for tailored feature sets for a wide array of project team members and project types. Its on-demand PPM is a Web-based project management software that offers all the functionality of a desktop software, with the flexibility of the Internet at a lower initial cost.

Enterprise PPM from the company provides a 360-degree view of resources, budgets and earnings, plus direct visibility into project statuses and without any hard coding a secure and stable integration can be realized with enterprise software applications – including SAP, Salesforce.com, Oracle JD Edwards, IBM Lotus Notes, Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint and Office – through a drag-and-drop interface.

The company officials explained that the Genius Project Enterprise PPM provides all of the economy and versatility of a SaaS (News - Alert) solution, but with the peace of mind that comes from having project data on a local server.

“Industries such as defense and pharmaceuticals have data security procedures that mandate all data be kept on premise. Other companies prefer to own their software rather than pay an annual fee for a web-based solution,” said Christophe Borlat, managing director sales and marketing at Genius Inside (News - Alert). “By adding Genius Project Enterprise PPM, we now have on-premise solutions for Domino and non-Domino organizations, as well as our SaaS product for companies that prefer a hosted solution.”

Enterprise PPM is implemented like an in-house SaaS (software as a service) solution and the advantages of a SaaS solution over a traditional one are: anytime, anywhere access; no upfront costs required as it is subscription based; easy sharing of data with staff and other business partners; apps are hosted-offsite meaning they are more secure with limited access; a SaaS application like Genius Project for Web can be up and running very quickly; and more.
