mPhase Technologies has revealed that the design of a new automotive product it is creating has been refined with a major European automobile manufacturer.
The new automotive product is based on advanced battery technology, and the company expects that the refinement of this product will lead to advanced functionality with a small footprint.
The company is schedule to complete a prototype in the first quarter of 2011. Company officials believe that this product will have broad appeal to both the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket automobile industry.
Ronald A. Durando, CEO at mPhase Technologies (News

Additionally, the company said that it’s introducing a revolutionary Smart Surface technology enabled by breakthroughs in nanotechnology, MEMS processing and microfluidics.
Company officials said that this technology has potential applications within drug delivery systems, lab-on-a-chip analytic systems, self-cleaning systems, liquid and chemical sensor systems, and filtration systems.
In addition to the Smart Surface technology, the company recently introduced its first product, the mPower Emergency Illuminator, a product designed by Porsche Design Studio and sold via the mPower website. It features an innovative battery technology termed as “Power On Command,” which offers power when and where users need it.
The company announced recently that it’s negotiating a worldwide sales channel agreement for its mPower Emergency Illuminator design. If concluded, the agreement is expected to make the mPower Emergency Illuminator design available globally by an established brand.
