Fuzhou Rockchip to Unveil Mobile Internet Platform

Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd, a leading semiconductor company based in China, is all set to release the new RK29xx mobile Internet platform, which will cover the Internet TV, Google TV, tablet and smartphone industries.

RK29xx will support Android (News - Alert) 2.2-powered devices as well as Google TV. The solution integrates the RK29xx solution with a powerful CPU and specialized 2D/3D GPU processors, which help display the 1080 HD format seamlessly along with the other latest video formats. The RK29xx finest system on chip includes decoding of the latest WebM VP8 codec and supports all digital standards including ATSC-T/MH.

The company will demonstrate its latest products at the Consumer Electronics Show. These Android-based products powered by RK29xx will be the first ones to be displayed to the public. The company will also make available to the public all types of e-books, Internet TVs, PMP and smartphones, which the customers can operate and try out.

Fuzhou Rockchip will be displayed at the Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 6 to 9, at South Hall, in Las Vegas, booth No. 21725.

Fuzhou Rockchip is a leading Chinese semiconductor company and mobile internet SOC provider which was founded in the year 2001. The company has its headquarters in Fuzhou in China. The company specializes in products meant for the mobile Internet platform. The products are targeted at the mobile Iinternet terminals such as Internet TVs, MIDs and e-books. It also includes portable multimedia terminals. The company takes advantage of its audio and video experience to develop semiconductor solutions for OEM/ODM devices.  

TMCnet recently reported Fuzhou Rockchip recently began commercial production of 65 nm multimedia chips along with SMIC.
