Vector Software, the provider of software testing applications for embedded systems, has selected Advanced Semiconductor (News
- Alert) Technology Ltd. (AST) to be its exclusive distributor and technical representative in Israel.
Advanced Semiconductor Technologies Ltd., located in Raanana, Israel, was selected because of its extensive technical knowledge and thriving track record in the electronic design automation (EDA) market.
“With 25 years of experience, AST has an outstanding reputation and well-established relationships with many Israeli companies,” stated William McCaffrey, chief operating officer at Vector Software. “With AST having become our distributor and technical representative in Israel, they will provide Vector Software an instant, reliable platform in Israel.”
“Vector Software provides one-of-a-kind capabilities to address the challenges of testing embedded software applications,” said Uri Farkash, director of EDA Operations at AST.
“Representing Vector Software will enable AST to increase the VectorCAST product exposure for automating embedded software testing across the development lifecycle. A special target is for aerospace and military projects where VectorCAST addresses the automation of the software verification process as defined by DO-178B,” Farkash added.
Vector Software’s VectorCAST line of products, automate and manage the complex tasks associated with unit, integration, and system level testing.
The VectorCAST family of products automates testing activities across the software development lifecycle. The purpose of this section is to provide a high-level view of what the VectorCAST products do, how they interwork, and how you might best use them to fully meet your own software testing needs.
VectorCAST/C++/VectorCAST/Ada: These tools automate the process of testing source modules written in C/C++ or Ada.
VectorCAST/RSP: The Runtime Support Package tool serves as an extension to VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Ada. It allows execution of test cases for real-time applications in an embedded-target or simulator environment.
VectorCAST/Cover: This tool performs code-coverage analysis during functional or system test. It can share coverage data with VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Ada.
VectorCAST/Manage: This tool enables the user to import previously developed VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Ada test environments into regression test suites, providing a single point-of-control for all unit and integration test activities.
VectorCAST/Requirements Gateway: This feature permits the flow of data between a requirements management tool and the VectorCAST testing tool.
VectorCAST for DO-178B: The Requirements and Technical Concepts for Aviation (RTCA) Document Number RTCA/DO-178B specifies that qualification of a software tool is necessary when processes of the DO-178B document are eliminated, reduced, or automated by the use of a software tool without its output being verified.
