Mindspeed Technologies has announced that the company will showcase its multi-core Comcerto SoC packet processors at the Broadband World Forum 2010 conference at the CNIT La Defense in Paris, France.
By using a combination of very large-scale integration (VLSI) design techniques, low power core technology from ARM Ltd (News - Alert)., Comcerto processors reduce maximum and average power consumption compared to alternative solutions. Also, to help accelerate system development schedules, while reducing total system cost, the Comcerto 1000 software design kit (SDK) includes a complete broadband home router (BHR) reference implementation and a carrier-class, feature-rich voice package.
The Comcerto Carrier Convergence (News - Alert) Processor M82710 offers telecommunications equipment manufacturers a single device that can seamlessly transmit highly secure, carrier-class quality voice across wireless and wireline networks with integrated voice encryption, authentication, and denial-of-service (DoS) protection.
“Mindspeed will be showing its award-winning Comcerto 1000 processors at Broadband World Forum in applications that highlight its superior packet handling for delivering advanced triple-play services, carrier grade voice-over-IP (VoIP) quality, gigabit line rate security performance and a reliable framework for telecom operators to deploy value-added services over fiber networks," said Marco Bello, executive director of customer premises equipment marketing and product management at Mindspeed, in a press release.
Offering HD VoIP service and gigabit data rates with robust Quality of Service (QoS), the Comcerto 1000 SoC processor will be shown distributing multiple simultaneous high-definition (HD) video streams. The company will also highlight its line of Comcerto-based solutions for the carrier and enterprise markets apart from showcasing its Comcerto-based fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband home router platform. With the help of an LTE Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC (News - Alert)) configuration, Mindspeed's Transcede 4000 3G/4G/LTE wireless baseband processor will also be displayed.
