ExactTarget Selects Netezza TwinFin Data Warehouse Appliance

Looking to power Audience (News - Alert) Builder, the next generation of its segmentation and targeting engine, ExactTarget, a global provider of e-mail marketing and interactive marketing solutions, selected the Netezza TwinFin data warehouse appliance.

Audience Builder helps customers to get the insight they need to make smarter marketing decisions. It also allows them to access their data quickly using a drag ‘n drop interface to build the most targeted audiences possible.

To build the most targeted audiences possible based upon customer attributes and behavior across email, mobile, social media and sites, ExactTarget Audience Builder allows marketers to create, count and manipulate data in real-time and it is powered by the Netezza (News - Alert) TwinFin appliance. The next generation of ExactTarget's real-time reporting and analytics technology architecture will also get a good base with this technology.

“In order to make precise and impactful marketing decisions, ExactTarget's customers rely on real-time information and insights," said Brad Terrell, vice president and general manager of digital media at Netezza, in a press release. "The TwinFin appliance allows ExactTarget to deliver this information faster and more accurately than ever before. And like many other organizations in the digital media industry, they are rapidly growing and winning business as a result of their partnership with Netezza.”

With the ExactTarget Interactive Marketing Hub, Audience Builder is made available as a standalone application or as a hub application. With this Interactive Marketing Hub, marketers can plan, monitor and track real-time interactive marketing programs from a single dashboard. This can be achieved by collecting all customer interaction data as it happens. Powering more than 25 billion transactions a day across its global infrastructure, ExactTarget currently manages more than 200 terabytes of data.

In September 2008, the company announced the release of five advanced analytic applications developed by Netezza Developer Network members. The new applications served markets such as retail, telecommunications, financial services and government. The application powers complex analytics faster and more economically feasible then before, allowing users to perform “what-if” analyses to predict future outcomes more accurately, according to Netezza officials.
