By Vinti VaidElectric Cloud, a provider of software production management (SPM) solutions, launched ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition (ECWE) at JavaOne and Oracle (News - Alert) Develop 2010.
The ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition provides enterprise-class features and the flexibility of ElectricCommander to smaller teams and workgroups. It enables smaller organizations to automate and manage their software build-test-deploy processes. With this, developers are free from maintaining homegrown, script-based systems, or adjusting their processes to fit open source tools.
In a press release, Usman Muzaffar, the vice president of product management for Electric Cloud (News - Alert), stated that every development organization, whether large or small, has unique requirements for its software build-test-deploy process. Instead of creating a homegrown system or being forced to adapt their processes to fit open source or commercial off-the-shelf tools, ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition works the way developers work.
A single system is provided by ElectricCommander to support numerous components, products and platforms. This makes ElectricCommander the build-test-deploy automation system of choice for small and large teams developing in complex Java, C++, .NET (News - Alert) or multi-language environments.
ElectricCommander provides the flexibility teams need, without forcing them to change processes, which is unlike open source tools for building or testing. ElectricCommander also becomes accustomed easily to changing requirements and needs minimal administrative overhead, unlike a homegrown approach.
The same fundamental infrastructure as the ElectricCommander enterprise product is used by the new ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition, but it is architected to support processes and workloads of smaller organizations. The new workgroup edition of the product is flexible to adapt and grow over time as business needs dictate. There is no need to make painful infrastructure and process changes in the future since ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition can be transitioned without trouble to the enterprise version as teams and projects grow.
The ElectricCommander Workgroup Edition from Electric cloud is now available.
