Password Reset Server Saves Company IT Departments Lots of Time and Money

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

How much time do you figure your company wastes completing password resets for employees? Whatever your answer, the correct one is “too much.”If you want to reduce calls to your Help Desk and let employees reset their own forgotten passwords, you can. Password Reset Software also known as Password Reset Server, from Thycotic takes end-users through a series of secure questions and images, and even telephone verification, to reset their passwords, saving your IT department the time and trouble of doing so. There are more important things they could be doing.

Described by company officials as “an end-user password reset tool,” Password Reset Server combines ease-of-use with security, and according to Thycotic officials, meets Section 508 compliance standards.

Thycotic is a Microsoft (News - Alert) Silver Certified partner that has provided secure software products, development and training to the information technology industry, individual consumer and small business markets since 1996.

An astounding 95 percent of attempted cybercrimes occur when a weak password is involved, so users must ensure that they always maintain a strong password. A strong password essentially means that a password should consist of at least eight characters and a combination of both lowercase and uppercase letters, with at least one symbol or number within the password, according to TMCnet.

With the combination of a strong password and password reset software that can utilized to change it if possibly compromised, businesses and enterprises can feel safe that all of their confidential information will remain safe and protected under any circumstances.
